Visiting Sunrise Senior Living at Weston (July 7, 2015)
The monthly program “Understanding, Celebrating, and Respecting Different Cultures” at Sunrise Senior Living at Weston was held on July 7th. Representative from the Consulate General of Japan visited to introduce a festival called “Tanabata” that is celebrated every year on July 7th in Japan. Participants celebrated Tanabata by writing wishes on tanzaku (small pieces of paper) and hanging them on bamboo. After a presentation about kimono, those who wished were able to try them on.
